Abbeyfield Living Society are looking for a Night Care Assistant at Speedwell Court Care Home in Southampton. Speedwell Court is a Good CQC rated, purpose built home that provides high quality residential and Dementia care to its elderly residents.
Role: Night Care Assistant
Starting hourly rate: £12.96-£13.31
Hours: Shift times are 8am-8pm. Full or part time hours available, both of which include alternate weekend shifts.
Location: Mansbridge Rd, West End, Southampton SO18 3HW
The Role of Night Care Assistant: As one of our highly valued Night Care Assistants, you will be at the front line of care delivery. You’ll help residents with their individual care needs, such as personal care, medical care and following social interests. You’ll build a special bond with each resident and give professional and emotional support during difficult times, such as periods of illness. Your time as a Night Care Assistant will be varied, interesting and rewarding.
Typical tasks that you may assist with include:
- Assisting residents with washing and dressing and getting settled for a good night's sleep.
- Helping residents with meal times including eating and drinking - always promoting choice.
- Providing support to residents in getting around and being as able as possible.
- Being respectful of residents’ choices; their dignity and independence, always.
- Being integral to developing residents' care plans, which includes being aware of specialist support needs.
