Role Details
Role: General Assistant – Kitchen
Pay: 12.21 p/h
Location: Woodlands Care Home, Woodlands Dr, Skipton BD23 1QU
Hours: 10 Hours a week
Shift Times: 11am – 4pm. Week 1: Thursday & Friday. Week 2: Saturday & Sunday
Responsibilities
- Help keep the home cleaned and tidy for residents.
- Assist with meal preparation and serving.
- Support Kitchen staff in preparing meals presented to the highest standard.
- Perform cleaning of residents’ bedrooms, self‑contained flats, communal areas, and offices.
- Assist in providing healthy and nutritious food for residents.
- Keep all kitchen and store areas clean and follow hygienic practices to protect residents and keep them safe.
- Promote wellbeing of residents.
- Opportunity to cook/bake on occasion to cover Cook (to be discussed further at interview).
Qualifications & Experience
- High standards, neat and tidy.
- No experience required; training will be provided.
- Natural calling to care.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Two satisfactory employment references.
- Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Abbeyfield).

Eligibility & Safety
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield. You may be asked to provide details regarding convictions; failure to disclose convictions may result in an offer of employment being revoked.
