Abbeyfield Great Missenden & District Society is an independent charity and a member of Abbeyfield England Ltd. The Society built the house on its present site in the Link Road 40 years ago and is very much part of the local community. It has good links with the local schools, shops and churches.

Specific Role and Responsibility

  • We are looking for someone who is comfortable with using their digital and communication skills.
  • You may not have worked with older people before but we are looking for someone with creative skills in developing our marketing and fundraising strategy.
  • You will manage social media platforms as appropriate.
  • You will be familiar with writing updates, press releases and community stories.
  • You will develop a marketing and fundraising strategy.
  • You will identify fundraising opportunities and appropriate grants.
  • Develop further links with the community in and around Great Missenden.

Person specification

  • Have a specific interest in the welfare and wellbeing of older people.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience of fundraising and marketing would be an advantage.

Time Commitment

  • 2-4 hours per week.
  • Attendance at Board meetings bi-monthly.
  • Social events with residents.
