Position: Domestic Assistant (Multiple posts) Bangor Area
Hours: 12-16 hrs per week
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

Overview: Abbeyfield & Wesley are pleased to advertise for a Domestic Assistant to join our enthusiastic and innovative team. The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time in the Association's development and be a key player in the successful running of domestic duties in delivering the excellent service Abbeyfield & Wesley are renowned for. Working in conjunction with the Support Manager, the Domestic Assistant will play the important role of providing the highest standards of comfortable, clean and homely surroundings for all residents whilst ensuring that Health and Safety standards are being met. This is a truly fulfilling role within an Association dedicated to encouraging enhanced quality of living and dignity and respect for elderly people within our communities. Key objectives:
- To work within the cleaning schedules as determined by the Support Manager.
- Ensure appropriate products necessary for the control of infection are in place at all times in all appropriate locations.
- To be responsible for the daily use of housekeeping equipment.
- To ensure the correct use of all equipment and products in line with COSHH requirements.
- To ensure that equipment and store areas are kept in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in a similar role.
- A desire to encourage dignity, respect and quality of living for elderly people.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to keep records such as COSHH.
- Ability to keep basic records.
Desirable Criteria:
- First Aid in the workplace qualifications.
- Experience of working in, or knowledge of, a supported housing/health & social care environment.
- A willingness to achieve necessary qualifications to further develop your expertise and standards of service.
General Requirements:

- Maintain confidentiality at all times and act in accordance with Data Protection requirements.
- Be aware of and comply with safe working practices.
