Abbeyfield & Wesley are pleased to advertise for a Night staff position to join our enthusiastic and innovative team. The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time in the Association's development and be a key player in the successful running of the House in delivering the excellent service Abbeyfield & Wesley are renowned for. Working in conjunction with the House Manager, Night staff will play the important role of providing support and a sense of security to Residents, ensure that Health and Safety standards are being met, take part in drills relating to fire protocols and actively encourage a fantastic level of service for all Residents. This is a truly fulfilling role within an Association dedicated to encouraging enhanced quality of living and dignity and respect for elderly people within our communities. Main Duties:
- Be available and present within the house during the night to respond with reassurance and appropriate assistance to calls from residents
- Ensure that Health and Safety standards are being adhered to
- In conjunction with the House Manager, plan and prepare nutritious snacks for Residents
- Keep standard records such as an incident book or fire drill logs
- Actively deal with general emergencies that may occur from time to time, which may involve making emergency calls for medical assistance or to volunteers and family members
- Help create a supportive, homely and secure environment for the residents
Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the House Manager or the Area Manager in their absence.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with workplace Health and Safety
- A desire to encourage dignity, respect and quality of living for elderly people
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to keep records
Desirable Criteria:
- First Aid in the workplace qualifications
- Food Safety qualification
- A willingness to achieve necessary qualifications to further develop your expertise and standards of service.
