Salary: Bucks Pay Range 1B salary linked directly to experience and qualifications of applicant. Salary to be pro rata to weeks & hours, example actual gross salary based on 32.5 hours from £18,501 approx.

Contract Type: Fixed term – duration that the pupil attends the Academy.

Hours: 32 hours and 30 minutes per week.

Closing Date: 1st June 2026.

Start Date: 1st September 2026 (Pending satisfactory completion of pre‑employment checks).

About the Role

As a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide one‑to‑one support to an individual pupil with an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHC) who has specific needs. The postholder will be fully informed about the needs they are supporting and the targets set by external professionals, and will support the pupil under the direction of the class teacher and Head of Academy to deliver planned learning interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting an individual pupil with an EHC Plan
  • Using positive communication to ensure firm, consistent boundaries are set
  • Ensuring the pupil’s understanding of instructions and how to succeed in the task
  • Redirecting the pupil back to the task when their attention wanders
  • Giving praise for perseverance
  • Acknowledging every aspect of good behaviour
  • Supporting pupils in class
  • Supporting small groups or individuals out of class

The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills.
