About Us

With more than 35 years of craftsmanship behind us, we are a respected and long-established blacksmithing and metal fabrication company based in Glasgow, specialising in gates, railings, staircases, automatic gates, and bespoke ironwork. Our work spans both heritage and contemporary projects, collaborating with architects, developers, artists, Historic Scotland, English Heritage, the National Trust, and domestic clients across Central Scotland. We also provide miscellaneous metalwork, galvanising, sandblasting and specialist railing painting.

As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Gate & Railing Fabricator or Installation Engineer (Chargehand) to join our growing team.

The Role

This is a hands-on, full-time role involving the fabrication, welding, installation, and repair of metal gates, railings, and bespoke steelwork. Working both in our Glasgow workshop and on-site throughout Central Scotland, you will help deliver high-quality, handcrafted metalwork across a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install metal gates, railings, balustrades, and bespoke architectural ironwork
  • Undertake welding and repair work in mild steel.
  • Assist with the installation of automatic and electric gate systems alongside our in-house automation engineers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and site specifications
  • Lead or supervise small installation teams when required
  • Communicate with clients and site teams to ensure quality and customer satisfaction

About You

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys delivering top-quality workmanship. You will be expected to have:

  • Proven experience in metal fabrication or installation
  • Skilled in MIG/TIG welding and confident working from technical drawings
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • Supervisory or chargehand experience (advantageous but not essential)
