Abbey Logistics, a UK and European industry-leading food and non-food tanker distribution business, is seeking to recruit HGV 1 Tanker Drivers based in Burton on Trent.

Key details:

  • Night Tanker Driver Sunday - Friday available
  • 9-10 hour shifts
  • Full-time permanent Monday - Friday Nights / Sunday - Thursday Nights
  • Food tanker (both oils and chocolate, none ADR)
  • 10 hour guarantee per shift
  • Average shift length: 9-10 hours
  • Start times approx.
  • Pay: £17.00ph Monday - Friday / £18.20ph Sunday
  • Weekly pay
  • Microlise bonus - paid monthly

The role of an Abbey Logistics Class 1 Tanker Driver includes:

  • Safely and efficiently delivering customer products using bulk liquid tankers throughout the UK and into Europe if required
  • Collection & delivery of product in tankers to and from customer locations
  • Keeping your vehicle in clean condition
  • Working at heights
  • Using your digital hand-held device to record all circle checks and deliveries
  • Following company procedures in accordance with strict industry guidelines
  • Connecting and disconnecting hoses for loading and unloading
  • Manual handling of equipment such as couplings, valves, and hoses

Experience required:

  • Hold a full LGV C+E (Class 1) licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
  • Tanker experience essential
  • Must hold a valid and up-to-date DCPC Card
  • Can safely operate within a fall arrest system of up to 140kgs
