We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the operational performance, customer service delivery, and financial management of a key logistics contract. Align business performance with customer expectations, prepare, manage, and monitor KPIs daily to ensure the business achieves agreed service levels.
The successful candidate will ensure contractual service levels are exceeded while maintaining strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and union representatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the Transport Operations Manager and 24/7 planning team to deliver efficient service.
- Monitor contract performance, KPIs, financial reporting, and budgets.
- Ensure sufficient operational resources to protect the customer supply chain.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and unions.
- Manage operational planning, capacity modelling, and cost-efficient transport solutions.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on service, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee supplier management, agency costs, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, O-Licence requirements, and Health & Safety standards.
- Manage customer issues and complaints within agreed SLAs.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in transport or logistics management.
- Strong experience working within a unionised, 24/7 operational environment.
- Commercially aware with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- International CPC (essential).
- Degree or equivalent preferred.
The Role: Wellingborough
Salary: £54,000 PA / + Car allowance
Monday - Friday (45 hours per week) / Does require early starts.
