We’re looking for a driven, hands on Transport Operations Manager to lead our Hull depot within a fast paced operational environment. This role will be operating between both Manchester and Hull depots on a weekly basis.
This is a key leadership role offering real ownership of transport performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for running a safe, efficient and customer-focused transport operation, ensuring full Operator Licence compliance, high vehicle standards, and a motivated, high-performing driver workforce. This role suits someone who enjoys being visible on site, solving problems, and driving standards on the ground.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading day-to-day transport operations to deliver a reliable, cost-effective service in a fast-moving environment
- Acting as the named Transport Manager, ensuring full legal and Operator Licence compliance
- Managing drivers and fleet performance, including training, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Overseeing vehicle roadworthiness, maintenance planning, and supplier relationships
- Championing health, safety and compliance across the operation
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a Transport or Logistics management role
- Strong working knowledge of transport legislation and driver hours
- Hands-on leader with excellent organisational and communication skills
- IT literate with a full clean driving licence
