Location: Abbey House Residential Care Home, near Kirriemuir
Hours: Full-time, 12-hour night shifts (fully paid, no unpaid breaks)

Abbey House is a small, friendly 15-bed residential care home set in a peaceful and picturesque rural location. Surrounded by beautiful Scottish countryside and hills, we provide high-quality, person-centred care in a warm and homely environment.
Due to our rural setting (approximately 1 mile outside Kirriemuir), there is no public transport available, so own transport is essential.
Role Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Night Shift Carer to join our team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of our residents throughout the night.
This is a fully paid 12-hour shift, meaning you are paid for your entire shift with no unpaid break deductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents during night hours
- Assist residents with personal care, including toileting, dressing, and mobility
- Carry out regular checks to ensure residents’s safety and wellbeing
- Respond promptly to call bells and emergencies
- Support residents who may be awake, anxious, or unwell during the night
- Maintain accurate care records and handover information to day staff
- Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and secure overnight
- Promote dignity, respect, and independence at all times
What We’re Looking For
- A caring, compassionate, and patient nature
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and observation skills
- Previous care experience preferred (but not essential – training can be provided)
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
- Full-time availability for night shifts
- Ability to travel to a rural location
- Own transport is essential (no bus route available)
