Abbey House is a small, friendly residential care home in Kirriemuir, providing high-quality care for 15 residents. We are currently looking for a Bank Cook to cover regular annual leave and occasional absences.
About the Role
As Bank Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, home‑cooked meals that meet the individual dietary needs of our residents. This is a flexible role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced meals for up to 15 residents
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements (e.g. modified textures, allergies, cultural needs)
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Manage stock control and basic kitchen records
- Work effectively as part of the care team
- Be confident working independently (lone working required at times)
About You
- Previous cooking experience preferred (care home experience desirable but not essential)
- Good understanding of dietary requirements and nutrition
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable with lone working when required
