We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Complex Care Support Worker to support an individual living in the Tinsley area of Sheffield.
About the Role
This is a lone working support role supporting an individual with complex needs, including epilepsy and behaviours that may challenge. The successful candidate will provide person-centred support within the individual’s home and local community, helping them live a fulfilling and active life. The individual enjoys community activities including swimming, therefore applicants must be comfortable supporting swimming activities and driving the individual’s mobility vehicle. The family are highly religious Muslims, therefore it is important that staff are respectful, sensitive, and able to work in a culturally appropriate and person-centred manner. The individual is looking for someone who is fun, energetic, active, patient, and able to build positive professional relationships whilst promoting independence and emotional wellbeing. Please note: The individual also has a pet cat within the home, therefore applicants must be comfortable working around animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support within the home and community
- Support with daily living activities, routines, and personal care where required
- Support with epilepsy management and follow agreed care plans and protocols
- Safely manage and respond to behaviours that may challenge
- Accompany the individual to activities including swimming and community outings
- Drive the service user’s mobility vehicle when required
- Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion
- Administer medication in line with company policy and training
- Maintain accurate records and report concerns appropriately
- Work independently and confidently in a lone working environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge
- Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy
- Confident working independently in a lone working setting
- Full UK Driving Licence – essential
- Comfortable driving a mobility/adapted vehicle
- Comfortable supporting swimming activities
- A caring, patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and reliability
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
Location: Tinsley, Sheffield, S9 1WH
Hours: Monday – Saturday, 08:00 – 16:00
Contract Type: Full Time or Part Time
Shift Pattern: Fixed daytime support
