We are currently recruiting for a Residential Post-room Operative to support the concierge and security team at a busy residential development based in Barking. You will have the responsibility of being the first point of contact for all residents managing the secure handling, logging and distribution of mail and parcels. Also responsible for maintaining the security of the development, managing access control, conducting regular patrols, and reporting any security, health & safety issues. You'll be a people person, going that little bit further to get to know the residents, building strong relationships with them on an individual level whilst always being completely professional, courteous, and respectful.
Ideally, you'll have all or most of the experience we're asking for:
- Previous experience in a residential post-room, concierge, security, or similar role.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with great attention to detail.
- Experience in managing contractors and building works within a busy development.
- Awareness of general fire, health & safety, and security.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and act quickly in emergencies.
- Intermediate IT skills: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Email, logging & reporting systems.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- SIA Licence (desirable but not essential).
Responsibilities:
- Receive and log all resident parcels & packages, adhering to correct storage and handover procedures updating systems accurately.
- Issue parcel collection notices and communicate delivery updates to residents.
- Maintain an organised, secure, and clean post-room environment.
- Be courteous and helpful to residents, guests, suppliers, tradesmen, and the general public.
- Conduct regular patrols reporting health & safety, security, and maintenance issues.
- Manage contractor and visitor access, tracking the issue and return of keys & fobs in line with site procedures.
- Report any signs of criminal activity, anti-social behaviour, or suspicious packages to the Property Manager or emergency services as appropriate.
- Assist with basic CCTV checks (if licensed and required) and report incidents accurately.
Hours: Monday to Friday / 08:30-19:00 Saturday 08:00 - 12:00
Salary: Β£36,608 per annum or Β£13.65 per hour
