Porter - Fixed Term Contract - W2
Location: West London
Contract: Fixed Term Contract- 2 months
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Salary: £12.75 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, personable and well-presented Porter to join the team at a traditional and well-maintained mansion block in West London on a fixed-term basis. This will be for circa 2 months.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of service and presentation. The successful candidate will be a friendly and approachable presence within the building, providing excellent service to residents while helping to ensure the communal areas and surrounding grounds are kept clean, tidy and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and assisting residents, visitors and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of communal areas, entrances, hallways and other shared spaces.
- Assisting residents with day-to-day requests and enquiries.
- Receiving and managing deliveries and parcels where required.
- Monitoring access to the building and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Liaising with contractors and assisting with access to apartments and communal areas.
- Reporting maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns to the appropriate person.
- Assisting with the upkeep of the building's exterior areas and grounds.
- Moving bins and assisting with refuse and recycling arrangements.
- Carrying out routine checks of the building and reporting any issues promptly.
- Supporting the wider management team with general porterage and building duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Friendly, polite and professional in dealing with residents and visitors.
- Well presented and takes pride in their work.
- Practical and willing to get involved with a range of day-to-day tasks.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Comfortable working in a residential environment where discretion and good customer service are important.
- Physically able to undertake the practical aspects of the role, including moving bins, deliveries and other items.
- Previous experience as a porter, caretaker, concierge, building attendant or in a similar residential role would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- A DBS is required for this role.
