Estate Caretaker - Private Estate, Chelmsford
£28,000 - £30,000 (DOE) | Full-Time | Permanent
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Estate Caretaker to oversee the daily upkeep and smooth running of a high-end private estate in Chelmsford. Key Responsibilities:
General maintenance of communal areas, including minor repairs, painting, and cleaning
Daily inspection of the estate for any maintenance or safety issues
Litter picking, bin rotation, and basic gardening duties
Liaising with contractors and reporting larger maintenance issues to the Estate Manager
Ensuring high standards of presentation and cleanliness across the estate at all times
Monitoring deliveries and assisting with access control when required
Keeping accurate records of tasks and maintenance schedules
Requirements:
Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role (residential estate experience desirable)
Strong sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining high standards
Good communication and organisational skills
Basic handyman/DIY skills (plumbing, painting, minor repairs)
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
DBS check may be required (or willingness to obtain)
