This Position reports to: Bid Manager

If you are new to estimating or come with some experience, this role will provide you with the opportunity to create and complete bids, based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company as part of our estimating department. Covering a variety of different product lines, within our Smart Buildings and Smart Power departments. You will showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical and cost elements.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Formulating competitive quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
  • Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Managing the preparation of technical and financial aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and covering any specification deviations.
  • Complete housekeeping administration of each submission.
  • Collate technical product details for sign off submissions.
  • Attend customer visits with sales teams to discuss solutions.

Qualifications For The Role

  • Ideally holds an electrical based qualification – however not essential as training can be given.
  • Previous experience in estimating or a similar role would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft software, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
  • Mindset to innovate, take ownership, drive improvement.
  • A self starter who can proactively drive outcomes, while having the attention to detail to ensure consistent high standards.
  • Collaborative worker with strong written and verbal communication skills.
