This Position reports to:
Business Manager – Operations
In this role you will ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the Leeds Manufacturing business. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our procurement processes for plastics and electronics, ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of materials.

Work Model – Onsite in Leeds with travel locally and internationally (up to 40%) to perform supplier visits and collaboration between other EML EMEA Procurement teams as required by business needs
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
• Takes full ownership and responsibility for Full Life cycle supply chain management
• Executes purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Designs and implements plans and effective strategies for sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
• Supports the EMEA Procurement Manager in implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
• Drives alignment between Business Line procurement activities and division Category Team and strategy.
• Applies and successfully implements procurement standards, tools, and processes in their own area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
• Tracks and drives the procurement processes and activities and creates and updates reports, as required, following the ABB standards.
• Resolves issues related to procurement cost, quality, and delivery in their assigned area in a prompt manner.
• Proactively implements Governance processes to track internal and supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), quality issues, and implements related development actions.
• Executes and implements changes related to purchasing and logistics within their own area of responsibility.
• Ensures effective and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different units and centers.
• Supports and contributes to the achievement of Budget development.
• Develops and drives cost reduction plans to meet Business goals.
• Proactively manage supply base/number of suppliers for leverage and risk requirements.
Qualifications for the Role
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field and certification such as CIPS.
• Strong procurement experience in manufacturing, specifically in plastics and electronics with the ability to execute Budget & Performance Management.
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans to drive company growth and achieve long-term objectives.
• Contract Management: Handle contract negotiations, drafting, and management to ensure compliance and favourable terms.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a proven background of supplier management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
