This position reports to the Service Manager. As a Home Based, Field Service Engineer in the Kent area, you’ll represent ABB on customer paper manufacturing facilities.

Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑level field and in‑house technical support, including out‑of‑hours support.
  • Fulfil Service Agreement obligations, demonstrated by the use of ABB ServicePro and other reporting tools.
  • Provide application support and software troubleshooting to customers, on site and by remote dial‑in.
  • Advise clients on maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control.
  • Travel to sites anywhere in the UK for above activities in addition to primary areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use.
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advise Sales department of possible sales leads.
  • Assist Sales and Account management with preparation of quotations.
  • Commission equipment in the field as part of the project team.

Qualifications For The Role

  • Degree or HND in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering – essential
  • Clean Driving Licence (UK) – essential
  • Self‑motivated and able to work unsupervised – essential
  • Demonstrate excellent customer focus – essential

  • Knowledge of Paper Industry – desirable
