This Position reports to: Service Manager
Represents ABB as Home Based, Field Service Engineer in the North West of England on customer paper manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
- As part of the Northern Service Team provide 24/7 support on site for ABB QCS equipment.
- After initial ABB product training, you will be responsible to deliver the Service Agreement to scope, activities include Preventative and Corrective maintenance on ABB QCS/DCS equipment, configuration, calibration, modification, cleaning, adjustment.
- Participate in a 1 week in 3 on Call Rota.
- Develop a strong working relationship with customer across production and engineering.
- Provide High level field and in house technical support, including out of hours support.
- Fulfil Service Agreement obligations, demonstrated by the use of ABB ServicePro and other reporting tools.
- Provide application support and software troubleshooting to customers, on site and by remote dial in.
- Advise clients as to maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control.
- Flexibility to travel to sites anywhere in the UK for above activities in addition to primary areas of responsibility.
- Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering – essential
- Clean Driving Licence (UK) - essential
- Self-Motivated and able to work unsupervised - essential
- Demonstrate excellent customer focus - essential
- Good networking skills - essential

- Knowledge of Paper Industry - desirable
