This position reports to Studies, Tendering and Tech Advisory Manager.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Own development of Technical Solutions in the pursuit phase of typically large and strategic project and service pursuits, across Automation and Cyber Security.
  • Produce high quality technical content in the Bid phase, collaborating with the front-end Sales function and Bid Managers, typically working within a dedicated Capture Team.
  • Work across Market Segments, predominantly involving high value tenders in the Brownfield Energy Industries market, O&G, Power Generation and Petro Chemicals, with some exposure to Energy Transition sub-segments.
  • Accountable for ensuring successful delivery of tenders on time, in line with specifications and with quality and safety guidelines.
  • Support the small-scale delivery of strategic Studies as a precursor to subsequent ABB project opportunities.
  • Proactively drive, create, and work with wider ABB product groups on behalf of the UK Local Division, developing and maturing the technical Solution offerings in Energy Transition market sub-segments into the UK market.
  • Provide early phase technical advisory support, advising on technical issues, fronting customer workshops and presentations.
  • Assist sales managers with opportunity prospecting, compliance to customer specifications and safety standards, as well as technical details, writeups, costs, and deliverables for sales proposals.
  • Consider financial elements and impact in design of technical solutions, to develop a holistic work winning position.
  • Maintain a strong network of engineering professionals and disseminate engineering best practices to aid colleagues' development.
  • Develop, select, and apply standardized solutions, procedures, and tools, reporting inefficiencies, and identifying improvement opportunities.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Proven experience in industrial automation, working with the latest ICSS & SCADA products and all relevant and compatible networks in accordance with IEC standards and cyber security requirements.
  • Proven experience in providing support to proposals & project execution for Cyber security projects within the Energy Industries sector.
  • Extensive experience in Cyber security solutions for Control Systems (DCS&SCADA), including risk assessments, compliance with standards (IEC62443, OG86, NIST 800, etc.), SIEM design, IDS design, IPS design, Network design remediation.
  • Experience in ABB control systems for DCS & SCADA solutions - 800xA, AC500, SCADA Vantage, ABB Zenon, ABB Freelance.
  • Engineering Qualification B.Eng or M.Eng. (Automation, Software, Electronics, Systems, Instrumentation), or equivalent level of acquired experience.
  • A collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong customer facing communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language.
