Reporting to the Global Head of People Grow, the Global Skills Architecture Lead is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving the company's enterprise-wide skills framework, including the taxonomy, ontology, and related technology choices. The role ensures that skills function as a strategic asset supporting talent acquisition, learning, mobility, workforce planning, and AI-driven opportunities marketplace platforms. It also connects skills to the evolution of jobs and tasks in a future of work reshaped by AI. Finally, the role ensures that real business challenges—namely workforce and organizational ones—are addressed by practical and measurable solutions.

The role reports to the Head of People Grow with a dotted line to the Head of Talent Acquisition and maintains strong partnerships with HR Tech & Experience and Enterprise Data/AI teams. The role may develop in the future to include wider scope and team leadership. Until then the role will have a strong partnership with the Job architecture team.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve a clear, enterprise-wide skills framework that becomes the common language of capabilities across the company.
  • Ensure skills are tightly connected to business priorities, future workforce needs, and HR processes.
  • Translate strategic capability needs into scalable, practical solutions that enable hiring, development, and mobility.
  • Establish robust governance to ensure skills are consistent, high-quality, and globally usable.
  • Define clear standards for skill definitions, proficiency levels, and certifications.
  • Shape the skills technology ecosystem across HR platforms, AI tools, and marketplaces.
  • Lead vendor selection and ensure technology serves the enterprise strategy—not the other way round.
  • Connect skills to the evolution of jobs, tasks, and ways of working.
  • Continuously monitor external trends and internal needs to identify skill gaps and emerging capabilities.
  • Drive alignment between job architecture and skills to ensure both evolve together.
  • Enable a dynamic, skills-based marketplace for jobs, learning, career opportunities, etc.
  • Leverage skills insights to power internal mobility, reskilling, and career growth.
  • Articulate and measure business value and ROI; act as the central connector across HR, business leaders and technology teams.

  • Talent Acquisition/Management, Learning, Grow
  • HR Technology / HRIS, HR platforms and ecosystems
  • Knowledge of AI, data models or semantic technologies
  • Workforce transformation programs
  • Skills taxonomies and ontologies; Skills inference and adjacency
  • Systems thinking and architectural mindset.
  • Ability to build and articulate business value/case.
  • Change management and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to operate at both executive strategy level and hands-on design level.
  • Data analytics skills; an understanding of how jobs, tasks, deliverables and skills interconnect.
