This position reports to: Procurement Manager.
In this role, you’ll help ensure procurement activities are implemented, maintained and compliant, while supporting wider business requirements. You’ll contribute to improving vendor performance across quality, delivery and cost, working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers. Day to day, you’ll carry out activities in line with ABB standard procedures, maintaining a consistent and efficient approach. You’ll also support and contribute to training where needed, helping to promote compliance and ongoing professional development across the function.
This role sits within the Measurement & Analytics Division (Instrumentation & Analytics) in Stonehouse, UK. You’ll work with a range of stakeholders including the Product Manufacturing Unit, global and category supply chain teams, Planning & Fulfilment, Trade Compliance, Finance and R&D.

Your Role and Responsibilities
- Executing procurement strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
- Designing and implementing plans and effective strategies for sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
- Supporting in implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
- Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
Work model: hybrid from our Stonehouse location.
Qualifications for the Role
- Proven experience improving supplier performance across quality, delivery, and cost.
- Strong understanding of supply chain risks and effective mitigation strategies.
- Comfortable working within a matrix organization and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Background in a demanding manufacturing environment with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, adapt to changing business needs, collaborate across teams and demonstrate courage through the ability to take calculated risk.
- Excellent negotiation, cost management, and data analysis skills; proficiency in Excel, with SAP and Ariba knowledge desirable.
- Professional membership such as CIPS or relevant supply chain/procurement qualifications is desirable.
