This position reports to: FO Lead.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources while supporting the delivery of day-to-day HR operations activities across ABB. As part of a structured two-year apprenticeship programme, you will work alongside experienced HR professionals, developing your knowledge of HR processes, systems, and people practices while contributing to delivering an excellent employee experience.

ABB, in partnership with Warrington & Vale Royal College, will support the successful candidate in studying for the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice. This nationally recognised qualification is designed for individuals looking to build a successful career in Human Resources and provides a strong foundation in people practice, employee relations, business culture, recruitment, learning and development, and HR systems and processes.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of HR services and transactions in compliance with established processes, policies, and service level agreements.
- Providing administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding activities.
- Assisting with maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data quality within HR systems.
- Supporting employees and managers by responding to HR-related queries and providing a positive customer experience.
- Learning and applying HR policies, procedures, and employment practices while ensuring compliance with data protection and company policies.
- Assisting with HR reporting, audits, and process documentation as required.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to simplify or enhance HR processes.
- Collaborating with HR colleagues across different teams and locations to support business and employee needs.
- Combining practical workplace experience with academic study to develop a strong foundation in HR and People Practice.
Qualifications for the Role

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with digital systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to learn new processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
- A-Levels, BTEC qualifications, or equivalent are desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
