This position reports to: Technical Support Team Leader.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical and application support to partners, customers and the sales organisation. You will contribute to customer satisfaction, delivering a superior customer experience as part of the Technical & Applications Support team within the Technical function for the UK drives business. This role supports the sales organisation by adapting the drives portfolio and technology with customer applications to meet specific requirements.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to partners, customers and colleagues on the ABB drives portfolio.
  • Displays a clear sense of urgency towards customer enquiries and the delivery of technical and applications support.
  • Supports in the delivery and implementation of the most technically appropriate and value-added solutions for relevant customers and applications.
  • Works with experts to stay updated on new product features and customer and market requirements.
  • Collaborates with the drives factories, OEM hubs and relevant support functions.
  • Conducts product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of the ABB drives portfolio.
  • Provides project support, on-site support, assistance and maintenance and delivery of technical training.
  • Complies with ABB Integrity and ethics programs and completes relevant training.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Technical and application support, working in OEM markets and related customer applications. Motion control / servo experience preferable.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the local business, factory teams and supporting functions.
  • Qualifications in electrical engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge and proven experience in variable speed drive systems.
  • Several years proven background in Drives and PLC technical and application support.
  • Passionate about technology, innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Holder of a full UK driving licence.
