This position reports to: Head of External Communications

Your role: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the External Communications team in ABB’s Automation Business Area on a contract basis until the end of December 2026. Immediate availability is required.

You will own the project “engine room” for Automation external positioning programs, ensuring we deliver high-quality content and activations on time, with strong stakeholder alignment and measurable impact. The work model for the role is: onsite/hybrid/remote.

Key responsibilities:
  • Project manage Automation Business Area flagship positioning programs and campaigns (Industry Optimized podcast, This is Engineering video series, etc.) from planning through launch to post-launch optimization.
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, including timelines, dependencies, budgets and approval pathways. Lead regular check-ins, capture decisions, and keep teams on track.
  • Coordinate external partners and vendors, including briefs, delivery milestones, review cycles, and budget/invoicing support in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear and structured documentation across all programs, including briefs, scripts, distribution plans, and performance summaries.
  • Ensure alignment and visibility of key activities across the Business Area and Divisions, supporting a unified planning approach and transparent stakeholder communication.
  • Establish clear reporting for each program and drive a data-driven approach to campaign measurement and optimization.
  • Enable best-practice sharing to scale successful approaches across formats, activation playbooks, vendors, and channels.
Who you are:

You are a collaborative and structured professional who can quickly get up to speed on dynamic, high-visibility positioning programs. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and building strong relationships across teams.

You combine strong operational discipline with sound editorial judgment, enabling you to keep creative production moving while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and governance. Experience coordinating communications or content production workflows is a strong advantage.

You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing or a related field.
