This Position reports to:
Service Team Leader

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

Work model: Onsite / Remote – Home based when not onsite.

The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout the UK. Overnight stays away from home will be required.

  • Provides technical support and solves problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any Service category (installation and commissioning; maintenance; repairs; engineering and consulting; advanced services; extensions, upgrades, and retrofits; end-of-life services, replacements, etc.
  • Provides technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers.
  • Determines effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.
  • Manages customer relationships and maintains regular contact with key customers.
  • Identifies new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.
  • Prepares all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative.
  • Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
  • Works to reduce cost and improves the quality of delivery of service and projects.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Degree , HNC/D or relevant qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering .
  • 5+ years of experience in Switchgear Commissioning / Testing .
  • Expertise within electrical protection commissioning.
  • Extensive experience of SCADA applications, development and field support
  • Strong background in Low/Medium-Voltage (LV/11kV/33kV) electrical distribution.
  • Knowledge in M S Office, ABB PCM600 Software , Omicron Test Universe .
  • Excellent understanding of the current H&S legislation.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer focus & timekeeping skills.
  • Mindset to innovate, take ownership, drive improvement .
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
