ABB is seeking a motivated Service professional to deliver our industry-leading portfolio with the highest standards of safety and quality. You’ll be the go-to technical expert—providing hands-on support, solving complex problems, and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience. This position reports to the LCS Contract Delivery Manager.
Overview: Based remotely with regular travel across the UK to both office locations and customer sites (onshore and offshore). Full training will be provided by the team at our Aberdeen location during the induction period.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Lead, maintain and update ABB Control System hardware/software modules, including testing, integration and modifications.
- Prepare and review design specifications, test procedures, method statements and scopes of work.
- Deliver product updates and new solutions in collaboration with customers, end users and internal stakeholders.
- Support bids, proposals and quotations while promoting sales of maintenance services, equipment and spares.
- Provide customer support including on-call advice, ad-hoc site visits, system modifications and lifecycle management.
- Ensure cyber security systems, processes and documentation are maintained to ABB standards.
- Troubleshoot complex technical/system issues on-site or remotely, driving proactive corrective actions.
- Plan and execute service work “first-time right,” managing subcontractors and ensuring quality, timelines and customer satisfaction.
- Compile site visit reports, communicate findings and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- Act as technical consultant, advising on maintenance, operations, control strategies and performance improvements.
- Interact with service management, clients, sales teams and technical specialists to identify opportunities and align priorities.
- Balance multiple challenges, including shifting priorities, customer expectations, resourcing, progress reporting and continuous improvement.

- Knowledge of ABB 800xA control systems, process control, loop performance, functional safety and cyber security awareness – desirable
