This Position reports to:
Service Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.
The work model for the role is: #remote based in the UK Midlands area with travel to customer sites and our ABB Leeds office.
This role is contributing to the Emergency Lighting Business within the Smart Buildings division of ABB's Electrification business primarily in the UK and Ireland and occasionally abroad. Main stakeholders are external customers, local Sales Organisation (LSO) and the manufacturing units.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Performing commissioning, replacement and preventive and corrective maintenance of (intelligent) emergency lighting products/systems and Central Battery systems.
- Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify technical issues and opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
- Prepares all material, parts and equipment are available are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
- Follows up all administrative reports and makes sure all are properly signed in a timely manner.
- Executing work on a first-time right approach with customers, and ensuring the job is done on time and as quality standards.
- Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative.
You will join a small and motivated EML Service team and will work close together with the Support teams from the Manufacturing Unit and the Local Sales Reps., where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the role
- You are skilled in Electrical Engineering and has affinity with Electronic Engineering with some field experience.
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in Emergency Lighting Systems and Central Battery Systems.
- Familiar with IoT, Building Management Systems and KNX/DALI and/or open to be educated on these systems/platforms.
- Proven to have good computer literacy experience (MS Word/Excel/Teams).
- You are passionate about QHSE and complying with the "Safety First" approach.
- You are representative in reading, writing and speaking English and is available for frequent travel (90%)
- You hold a valid driving license for the UK.
