This position reports to: Service Operations Manager

In this role, you will deliver high-quality service work across low to medium complexity projects, following ABB processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will plan and execute work with a strong “first-time right” focus, building trusted customer relationships and responding with urgency, professionalism and ownership.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

  • Work model: Remote #LI Remote
  • Provide remote technical support to customers during stand by time.
  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Assist to preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Assist in preparing work packs including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications for the Role

  • You are highly skilled in electrical / mechanical engineering solutions, preferably in the marine and ports industry, but not essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate an ability to be flexible with schedules and be self-sufficient in the field.
  • You will have experience in field services - ABB product experience is desirable.
  • Willing to work in demanding environments, both in the UK and internationally, on and offshore.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and/or have a demonstrated professional track record.
  • You are at ease communicating with a wide variety of people, both work colleagues and from the customer side.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Hold current driving license valid in the UK.
