Commissioning Engineer – Schneider PLC | Dagenham | Contract Location: Dagenham, Essex Contract Type: Contractor Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:00 Rate: £40 - £50 (Outside IR35) Weekend Support: Approximately two weekends per month The Role We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support an automated manufacturing project in Dagenham. This is a hands-on role combining basic PLC software development, commissioning, fault finding and production-line support . The successful contractor will work with Schneider Electric PLC systems, making software modifications and supporting the implementation and testing of changes on an operational production line. Key Skills Required Strong experience with Schneider Electric PLCs Proven experience with PL7 Experience with Unity Pro / EcoStruxure Control Expert Ability to make basic PLC software modifications and developments Strong commissioning and fault-finding experience Comfortable working directly on automated production lines Experience within automotive or advanced manufacturing environments is highly desirable Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Developing and modifying PLC software Carrying out commissioning activities on automated production equipment Walking the production line to identify and resolve faults Testing and validating software changes Preparing software updates for planned weekend maintenance windows Supporting commissioning and production activities as required Working closely with site and engineering teams to ensure equipment is operating correctly Weekend Requirement The project requires on-site support for approximately two weekends per month , ideally on consecutive weekends. xdjnayx Weekend work will primarily involve implementing, testing and commissioning software changes during planned maintenance and production shutdown periods.
