As a Senior Legal Counsel within Sky’sGroup Product Legal team, you’ll act as a trusted legal adviser andstrategic business partner to stakeholders responsible for bringingSky’s products tomarket. Customerproducts sit at the heart of Sky’s strategy. From the hardware andsoftware that power products such as Sky Glass, Sky Stream, SkyBroadband, Sky Mobile, Sky Home and Sky Protect, to the supplychain, strategic partnerships and compliance frameworks that enablethose products to be designed, developed, manufactured, distributedand supported at scale, you’ll advise on some of Sky’s mostimportant customer-facinginitiatives. Workingclosely with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Supply Chain,Product Compliance, Sustainability and Procurement, you’ll deliverhigh-quality, business-focused legal advice on complex commercialarrangements, product development initiatives, strategic supplierpartnerships and regulatory compliancematters. Thisrole combines commercial contracting with strategic legal andregulatory advice, requiring sound judgement, strong commercialacumen and the ability to balance innovation, customer outcomes andrisk management. Thisrole is based in the UK and offers the opportunity to workcollaboratively with legal colleagues across the UK, Italy andIreland as well as Comcast, supporting customer products andpropositions that are developed, launched and operated acrossmultiplemarkets. Whatyou’ll do Act as a trusted legal adviser and strategicbusiness partner to senior stakeholders across Product, Technology,Responsible Supply Chain, Product Compliance and Sky Protect,helping deliver Sky’s strategic priorities. Lead the negotiation, drafting and executionof complex commercial, technology, supply chain and strategicsupplier agreements with a high degree of autonomy, includingarrangements relating to hardware, software, manufacturing,warehousing, logistics, insurance and strategicpartnerships. Provideclear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice that enablesinnovation while appropriately managing legal, regulatory andcommercial risk across the full product lifecycle, from design anddevelopment through manufacture, launch, delivery, installation andin-life support. Support strategic customer product and supplychain initiatives including advising on transformation projects,strategic partnerships and associated legal and regulatoryconsiderations. Advise on product compliance, product safety,environment and sustainability requirements, cyber security,intellectual property, software licensing and other legalobligations affecting customer products and supply chains,including emerging legal and regulatorydevelopments. Leadmultiple complex matters simultaneously, exercising sound judgementto prioritise effectively and manage competing stakeholderdemands. Collaboratewith colleagues across the wider Legal department and partner withlegal teams across the Sky Group and Comcast to deliver consistent,high-quality legal support. Instruct and manage work undertaken by SkyLegal's managed legal services provider and external counsel todeliver efficient, cost-effective legalsupport. Essentialcriteria Qualified lawyer in a UK jurisdiction, or anequivalent common law jurisdiction. Proven commercial experience gained in aleading private practice and/or in-house legalteam. Significantexperience negotiating and advising on complex commercialcontracts. Experiencepartnering directly with senior business stakeholders andinfluencing commercial outcomes. Experience independently leading significantnegotiations and projects from instruction through tocompletion. Stronglegal advisory skills with the ability to analyse complex issuesand give clear practical recommendations to seniorstakeholders. Strongcommercial judgement and experience balancing legal and regulatoryrisk with business objectives in a fast-movingenvironment. Acollaborative and proactiveapproach. Desirableskills and experience Experience negotiating agreements andadvising on products within a regulated environment, in particularinsurance products. Experience working across multiplejurisdictions. In-house experience within a large, matrixedorganisation. Experience managing external legalproviders.
