Serve as the hands-on point of contact for trade authorities and management, managing export license applications, customs filings, and regulatory submissions. Oversee daily trade compliance activities, including product classification, valuation, country-of-origin verification, and transaction-level approvals. Develop and implement practical trade compliance procedures and systems (e.g., SAP GTS) to ensure consistent, operational compliance across local teams. Identify and mitigate compliance risks in real time, providing actionable guidance to business operations and continuously improving processes. Act as point of contact for customs brokers in case of clarification needs (e.g., regarding valuation or classification of products). Audit customs brokers regarding the correctness of customs entries, invoicing and archiving. Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities. Maintain and share with colleagues, as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses and restrictions.
Solid understanding of export control and customs rules, with potential for further expertise development within local and global context. Have several years of experience in business processes, with a strong understanding of supply chain management, risk management and logistics. Have experience working with trade compliance management systems (e.g., SAP GTS) and data-driven compliance processes. Be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, providing guidance and training to teams. Be proficient in the English language. Have a strong business mindset, be self-driven and responsive to operational needs. Have technical knowledge in the relevant product areas (though willingness to learn is essential). This Position reports to: SCM Manager. As a Local Trade Compliance Officer you will have the opportunity to be responsible for local import/export operations. Each day, you will supervise performance of customs brokers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities within a local unit, including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations.
