This position reports to: R&D Department Lead.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform product classification and prepare Product Classification Reports in line with ABB Global Trade Compliance procedures.
- Manage and update master data (product descriptions, HTS codes, ECN/ECCN numbers) and support customs-related inquiries and audits.
- Analyse upcoming goods movements to ensure timely classification and determine any licensing needs.
- Review past book-to-bill activity to ensure accurate reporting and correct any issues (e.g., Intrastat).
- Identify and reclassify products, software, and technology in response to regulatory updates or changes.
- Work with sales, order handling, project management, and procurement teams to ensure correct classification and early identification of export licence requirements.
- Review ECN/ECCN and HTS classifications with Trade Compliance Officers and update SAP GTS accordingly, while maintaining up-to-date export control knowledge.
Qualifications for the Role:
- Set up and execute product tests following relevant standards, methodologies, and test plans.
- Prepare and maintain test reports aligned with applicable product standards.
- Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of laboratory equipment and tools.
- Identify and help resolve product non-conformities in collaboration with laboratory specialists.
- Support external certification audits and testing for both ABB and client products.
- Lead product lifecycle management activities, including environmental declarations such as REACH and RoHS.
- Maintain standards databases, ensure accuracy of compliance declarations, and draft internal procedures and registration processes.
