This Position reports to: Project Execution Support Manager
As a Graduate Project Engineer, you will deliver hardware and software platforms for a range of automation systems and services, supporting engineering projects across the UK Energy Industries. You will play an active role in projects, providing practical, hands-on technical support from delivery through to implementation.
The two-year ABB UK Graduate Development Programme offers a structured start to your career, combining hands-on experience with formal learning and mentoring. You will work on real customer projects alongside experienced colleagues, developing practical skills and confidence in a professional environment. The programme is designed to support long-term development within ABB's UK and global teams.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team specialising in operational technology, supporting hardware and software systems that monitor and control industrial equipment, assets, processes, and events in live operational environments.
- Contribute hands-on technical support across multiple phases of customer projects, under the guidance of the Engineering Section Manager.
- Support the delivery of project outputs on time and within budget, while working in line with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications for the Role:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline such as Control, Automation, Electronics, Computer, Systems, or Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Strong interest in learning new technologies, with a high level of self-motivation and curiosity.
- Sound understanding of IT fundamentals including operating systems, networking, and basic cybersecurity principles.
- Willingness to develop hands-on experience with ABB industrial automation systems and digital or cloud-based tools.
- Ability to work effectively within collaborative, multi-disciplinary and international engineering teams.
- Interest in energy transition, sustainability, and the future of the energy industry.
- Willingness to actively participate in the ABB UK Graduate Development Programme.
- Full UK Driver’s License.
