About Formula E: Formula E, the world's fastest-growing sport, is redefining motorsport with a bold focus on innovation and sustainability. Hosting over 100 races in iconic cities globally and backed by top manufacturers like Porsche and Jaguar, we feature elite drivers and cutting‑edge EV technology. As the world's first sport certified Net Zero Carbon from inception, Formula E combines thrilling entertainment with a mission to advance sustainable progress, inspiring a global fanbase with our high-performance brand new GEN3 EVO race car capable of 0‑60mph in 1.82 seconds.

The Role: Are you a heavyweight negotiator ready to fuel the global expansion of the world’s most progressive motor racing series? We are seeking a Media Rights Director (APAC, MEA and Ancillary) to act as a strategic architect at the intersection of sport, broadcast and digital media. Reporting to the Chief Media Officer, you will hold full P&L ownership for your territories, bridging the gap between traditional linear broadcasting and a mobile‑first future to ensure Formula E reaches millions of fans across the globe.

  • Regional Revenue & Strategic Growth: You are the commercial lead responsible for executing high‑value negotiations and renewals to exceed annual targets. By implementing a "Reach + Revenue" model, you balance Tier‑1 Free‑to‑Air exposure to build the brand with premium OTT and Pay‑TV partnerships to drive P&L performance across diverse markets from Tokyo to Dubai and beyond.
  • Innovation & Content Commercialisation: You don’t just sell live rights; you transform history into opportunity. You will launch commercial frameworks for ancillary and archive rights, unlocking year‑round revenue streams and supporting internal and external stakeholders on various ancillary and original entertainment projects.
  • Partnership Leadership & Global Synergy: You are the primary link between Formula E and regional media giants. From leading onsite activations during E‑Prix race weekends to mentoring a high‑performing regional team, you ensure our partners deliver localised, high‑impact content. You will work in lockstep with the Chief Media Officer and legal counsel to manage the full lifecycle of complex media contracts and anti‑piracy measures.

Qualifications:

  • The Heavyweight Negotiator: 10+ years of experience in media rights or sports broadcasting, with a proven industry track record. You possess an established, senior‑level network of contacts across regional broadcasters and streaming platforms across key markets in APAC and MEA.
  • The Strategic Architect: Commercially astute and comfortable with full P&L ownership. You have the financial modelling skills to structure complex deals and the "big picture" mentality to define media strategies that maximise both audience reach and commercial value.
  • The Tech‑Forward Thinker: You stay ahead of the curve regarding digital distribution and emerging tech. You understand how to modernise the sports viewing experience for a mobile‑first generation and are excited by the integration of VOD, social media and gaming into the rights mix.
  • The Agile Global Leader: You thrive in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments and are ready to travel to support commercial stakeholders across a race weekend. You possess the cultural intelligence to navigate diverse regulatory landscapes and the communication skills to influence stakeholders at the C‑suite level. While not mandatory, a postgraduate degree in law or business and proficiency in regional languages will set you apart.

Benefits:

  • Annual discretionary 10% bonus
  • Bupa Private Medical Insurance
  • 25 days’ annual leave, Birthday day off and Wellbeing leave
  • Opportunity to extend your stay if travelling for a race event
  • Enhanced Parental Leave
  • Paid volunteer and carer’s leave
  • Health Cash Plan and access to the Aviva Digital Workplace app
  • Flexible Bank Holidays
  • Cycle to Work and Electric Car Scheme
  • Formula E store discount
  • Regular social events and employee working groups
