The Role: Are you a data-driven storyteller with a passion for sports that is ready to shape the future of the world's most progressive racing series? We are looking for a Fan Research & Insights Manager to join our Business Intelligence team in a role that bridges the gap between data analysis, fandom and commercial strategy. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for our fan understanding; you won't just be reporting numbers; you'll be decoding the “why” behind the “what”, ensuring that every roar of the crowd and every digital click is translated into a winning strategy for our marketing and commercial teams. You will sit at the heart of the business, turning global fan sentiment and behaviour into the fuel that drives Formula E's growth.
- Fan Research & Insight Development: You will lead in the designing and delivery of our high-impact qualitative and quantitative research programs. From the precision of global trackers to the intimacy of focus groups and interviews, you will map the fan journey across every touchpoint. You'll track the attitudes, motivations and behaviours of our audience, ensuring Formula E stays ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving sports landscape.
- Research Operations & Suppliers: Managing external research agencies and overseeing complex timelines, you will ensure that our data is high-quality, actionable and seamlessly integrated into our internal business KPIs and commercial planning.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with the marketing, commercial and digital teams to understand their business objectives and provide data-driven support for their initiatives.
- Actionable Recommendations & Storytelling: You thrive on bringing data to life. Your role is to translate complex datasets into clear, persuasive narratives that resonate with senior stakeholders. Whether you are working on the development of interactive dashboards or presenting to our CCO or CMO, you provide the data-driven “so what” that informs our global marketing and commercial initiatives.
What we're looking for in you:
- The Insight Specialist: You have a proven track record in quantitative primary research. Experience in sport, media, or the entertainment sectors is not essential but an interest in sport is. You possess a creative and curious mindset, with a genuine passion for understanding fan behaviour and the nuances of the global sports industry.
- The Methodological Expert: Your toolkit is diverse. You are experienced in designing and conducting various research methodologies, from large-scale surveys to qualitative interviews. You understand how to manage external partners and agency relationships to ensure every project is delivered with high-quality precision.
- The Data Storyteller: You are a master of visualisation and communication. Proficient in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Express, you have the ability to craft compelling narratives from complex data. You don't just present facts; you influence decision-making by communicating insights clearly, persuasively and with a focus on commercial success.
- The Collaborative Partner: This is a high-impact, cross-functional role. You are a resilient team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of partnering closely with marketing, commercial, and digital teams. You understand that your insights are the foundation for others' success and you take pride in providing the data-driven support that fuels our collective business objectives.
