The Role
Are you a highly experienced HSE professional ready to lead the safety and environmental strategy for a global, high-performance racing championship? We are looking for an HSE Manager to report to the Senior HSE Manager, taking ownership of the planning and operational safety for specific races across the international Formula E calendar. This is a pivotal, traveling leadership role that requires a blend of technical expertise and pragmatic problem-solving. You will be instrumental in ensuring our world-class events are delivered in line with our Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems, working closely with Event Directors to turn complex risks into safe, successful race weekends.
- Event Planning & Strategy: You will proactively support Event Directors to define event-specific HSE concepts. From conducting reviews for new host cities to scoping procurement requirements, you will ensure safety is baked into the plan from day one.
- Operational Leadership: Act as the HSE Race Lead on-site during the Championship. You will be the point person for implementing pragmatic solutions that mitigate risks to tolerable levels, ensuring every event meets the high-performance standards we hold the Championship to.
- Environmental & Technical Oversight: You will lead the charge on our Environmental Operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001. Your role includes reviewing supplier RAMS and managing contractor safety to ensure a seamless, sustainable build and race delivery.
What we’re looking for in you

With a minimum Level 3 H&S qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent), you have a proven track record of managing safety in complex, large-scale environments.
- The Collaborative Problem Solver: You don’t just find problems; you find solutions. You are a highly effective communicator with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external contractors alike, ensuring safety never compromises the momentum of the event.
- The Organised Strategist: You possess strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently. Whether you are conducting a pre-event recce or managing a live race site, you maintain a meticulous eye for detail and a clear focus on risk profiling.
- Resilience and Adaptability: This role is built for those who thrive on the road. You must be comfortable with international travel (typically 2-3 weeks at a time) and possess a positive, solution-oriented approach to the unique challenges of a global racing season.
