The Business Development, Precious Metals will lead the strategic growth of gold and silver derivatives trading on the exchange, with a primary focus on Asia. This role is responsible for driving market adoption, developing liquidity, and transitioning precious metals trading activity from OTC markets to interact with exchange-traded derivatives.

The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise across the full precious metals trade lifecycle -from futures execution and clearing through physical delivery, vaulting, and bullion logistics - and will act as a key interface between market participants, infrastructure providers, and internal exchange stakeholders.

KeyResponsibilities

• Defineandexecutetheexchange’spreciousmetalsgrowthstrategyforgoldandsilverderivatives,withafocusonAsia-Pacificmarkets.
• IdentifystructuralinefficienciesinexistingOTCpreciousmetalsmarketsanddesignexchange-basedsolutionstoimprovetransparency,capitalefficiency,andriskmanagement.
• LeadinitiativestomigratetradingflowsfromOTCspotandforwardsintostandardized,clearedderivativesproducts.
• Assessregionalregulatory,tax,andmarketstructureconsiderationsimpactingbulliontradingandderivativesadoption.
• Developandmanagesenior-levelrelationshipswithbullionbanks,producers,refiners,traders,vaultoperators,logisticsproviders,andinstitutionalinvestors.
• Drivesales,onboarding,andactivationofnewparticipantsacrossfutures,options,andphysicallydeliverablecontracts.
• Workcloselywithliquidityprovidersandmarketmakerstosupportsustainableorderbookdepthandtightspreads.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for clients on product design, contract specifications, delivery mechanisms, and margining.
• Maintain expert-level understanding of the full precious metals trade lifecycle, including: Futures and options execution; Clearing, margining, and settlement; Physical delivery processes; Vaulting, custody, and inventory management; Bullion quality standards, bar lists, and assay processes
• Providecommercialandtechnicalinputintonewproductlaunches,contractenhancements,anddeliveryinfrastructure.
• Collaboratewithclearing,operations,andtechnologyteamstoensurerobustandscalablepost-tradeprocesses.
• Representtheexchangeexternallyatindustryconferences,regulatorydiscussions,andclientforums.
• Providemarketintelligenceandfeedbacktoseniormanagementoncompetitivedynamics,clientdemand,andregionaltrends.
• Partnerwithlegal,compliance,andregulatoryteamstosupportapprovalsandmarketaccessinitiatives.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the regional sales and BD team as the business grows.
  

RequiredQualifications&Experience

• Extensiveexperience(typically10+years)inpreciousmetalsmarkets,derivativestrading,orbullionbanking.
• Deeptechnicalknowledgeofpreciousmetalsmarketsacrossderivativesandphysicallymarkets.
• Provenunderstandingofphysicalbullionmarkets,includingvaulting,logistics,andsettlementworkflows.
• StrongbackgroundinOTCpreciousmetalstradinganddemonstratedexperiencedrivingorsupportingthetransitiontoexchange-tradedderivatives.
• EstablishednetworkacrossthepreciousmetalsecosysteminAsia,includingbanks,traders,refiners,andinfrastructureproviders.
• Strongcommercialacumenwithatrackrecordofrevenuegrowth,clientacquisition,andliquiditydevelopment.
• Abilitytoengagecrediblywithbothtradingdesksandoperationsteamsoncomplexlifecycleandinfrastructuretopics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and jurisdictions.
