Abatec is recruiting for a permanent Section Engineer to join a leading contractor delivering £200M civil engineering works on a major project in Plymouth.
Your role as Section Engineer will oversee complex, varied and interesting works including below ground civils, M&E, topside equipment including cranes, bollards, roadways quay wall, integrated services, new modular buildings, with interface across other sections including sheet piling and temporary works.
As Section Engineer you will:
- Manage a team of Engineers, ensuring compliance with the project requirements.
- Material and vehicle forecasting.
- Ensure the workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the types of work being carried out.
- Identify and resource materials to support the programme of planned works.
- Identify and record NCR’s, ITPs and changes to scope of works.
- Write, review and issue RAMS.
- Produce look-ahead programme of works, and review progress against programme.
Our client requires a Section Engineer with:
- Previous experience as a Section Engineer on heavy civil engineering, marine or major projects.
- Degree, HND or HNC in civil engineering is desired.
- Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels).
- CSCS, and preferably SMSTS.
- A good understanding of construction health & safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills.
Salary/Benefits:
- £45,000 - £50,000.
- Competitive benefits package including pension scheme, annual leave etc.
