Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Section Engineer to join one of South West’s biggest Civil Engineering projects. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth, Devon. The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar position on major projects and will be required to manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time, and to the required quality. As Section Engineer you will: * Manage a team of Engineers, ensuring compliance with the project requirements. * Material and vehicle forecasting * Ensure the workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the types of work being carried out. * Identify and resource materials to support the programme of planned works. * Identify and record NCR’s, ITPs and changes to scope of works. * Write, review and issue RAMS. * Produce look-ahead programme of works, and review progress against programme. Our client requires a Section Engineer with: * Due to the nature of the scheme the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance. * Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desired. * Previous experience in a similar position * CSCS card * Proven people, project management skills, and organisational skills Salary/Benefits: * £425 – £475 p/day (PAYE/Umbrella) We are always looking for candidates for similar positions, so please register your details with us to hear about similar opportunities that you may be interested in.
