Abatec is proud to be partnered with a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This role is based on-site in Weston Super Mare, working on a significant infrastructure project – aimed at reducing congestion on a key commuter corridor.My client is recognised for delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure schemes across the highways and rail sectors, including smart motorway upgrades, active travel routes, transport hubs, and bridge replacement programmes. With a growing annual turnover of over £275 million they operate nationally and hold long-term collaborative partnerships with clients like National Highways and Network Rail.As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be :Oversee commercial delivery of an NEC contract involving site clearance, excavation, and utility diversions.Be site-present 4 days per week, monitoring cost performance and contract compliance.Manage project finances : forecasting, cost control, and achieving profit / cash targets.Administer contracts, including payments, claims, and change control.Lead procurement and ensure supply chain compliance and performance.Identify risks / opportunities and support resolution of commercial queries and disputes.Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and monthly CVRs.Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with :Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering.Confident working independently and managing commercial duties.Strong NEC contract knowledge and cost control skills.Effective communicator and relationship builder across teams and supply chain.Proficient in MS Office; experience with cost management tools desirable.Understanding of Lean principles (beneficial but not essential).Salary and benefits include :45,000 – £57,000 per annumCompany Car or car allowance schemePension & Life Assurance25 days Annual Leave (plus your birthday off)Enhanced Paternity & Maternity packagesOngoing personal and professional developmentIf you would like more information, or to apply for this vacancy, please contact Kelly Evans on (phone number removed).
