Opportunities to join the commercial team of a leading Civil Engineering contractor and support a major infrastructure and marine engineering project at one of the UK’s most strategically important naval bases. We are recruiting for Quantity Surveyors at all levels, from Assistant to Senior to work on high-value, complex works within a secure environment, supporting national defence infrastructure.

You will:

  • Be part of a commercial team, reporting into a Managing Quantity Surveyor.
  • Be responsible for applications, subcontractor payments and inputting data.
  • Manage the commercial and contractual requirements of assigned projects.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost control strategies.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure accurate valuations and applications for payment.
  • Conduct risk and value management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Our client requires:

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, or similar.
  • Experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4 preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively within secure and highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management tools.
  • (Desirable) SC (Security Clearance) or ability to obtain clearance due to nature of the project.

Location: Plymouth, Devon

Hybrid working: Some flexibility with home working

Working hours: 45 hours

Salary band: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum depending on level of experience
