Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Site Engineer to join one of the largest and most high-profile Civil Engineering projects in the South West, joining an award-winning, tier-one contractor that has secured exciting, challenging and long-term work ahead. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

As Site Engineer you will:

  • Have a minimum of 1–2 years' experience in setting out on civil engineering schemes
  • Carry out setting out duties using robotic total stations and GPS equipment
  • Check drawings and quantities, ensuring accuracy of calculations and site information
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and maintain accurate site records
  • Maintain drawing registers, site diaries, and trackers
  • Provide engineering support to resolve technical queries on site

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
  • CSCS Card
  • Experience in reinforced concrete works (essential)
  • A good understanding of construction health & safety and quality management systems
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Additional Information:

  • Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS and SC security clearance will be required (this process can take several weeks)
