This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value, complex cases. Join a collaborative team where you'll play a key role in managing the costs process from preparation through to negotiation, working on challenging and rewarding legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Bills of Costs, primarily for personal injury matters, with exposure to commercial dispute cases where required
  • Prepare Points of Dispute and Replies
  • Draft Cost Budgets
  • Negotiate costs settlements with opposing parties
  • Participate in mediation and costs settlement discussions
  • Support the wider legal teams with specialist costs advice
  • Assist with detailed assessment and costs management matters where required

About You

  • Previous experience in a Costs Lawyer or Law Costs Draftsperson role
  • Strong knowledge of legal costs procedures and practice
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to work across multiple systems
