This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value, complex cases. Join a collaborative team where you'll play a key role in managing the costs process from preparation through to negotiation, working on challenging and rewarding legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Bills of Costs, primarily for personal injury matters, with exposure to commercial dispute cases where required
- Prepare Points of Dispute and Replies
- Draft Cost Budgets
- Negotiate costs settlements with opposing parties
- Participate in mediation and costs settlement discussions
- Support the wider legal teams with specialist costs advice
- Assist with detailed assessment and costs management matters where required
About You
- Previous experience in a Costs Lawyer or Law Costs Draftsperson role
- Strong knowledge of legal costs procedures and practice
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills with the ability to work across multiple systems
