Abatec are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our dynamic Construction team based in the Southwest Water Region, specifically on a £75m water treatment work project in Bournemouth. This role is essential in ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical works on-site to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Lead Site Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical site activities. You’ll play a vital role in delivering a quality installation, with an emphasis on maintaining safety standards, following specifications, meeting deadlines, and ensuring full compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).

As a Mechanical Site Supervisor:

  • Assist the Site Manager in creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all site personnel and visitors.
  • Ensure all HS&E documentation is up-to-date, properly recorded, and reflects the latest requirements.
  • Review and interpret drawings and documentation to ensure work is carried out as specified.
  • Support the review and implementation of Method Statements and Work Instructions.
  • Supervise mechanical works to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and procedural standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of site progress through drawings or digital tools.
  • Identify, record, and support the resolution of non-conformances and improvement opportunities.

Our client requires a Mechanical Site Supervisor with:

  • Extensive experience in the energy or water sectors with a strong background in mechanical supervision.
  • Deep understanding of pipework fabrication, welding, and mechanical installation.
  • Ability to inspect, punch, and snag mechanical systems according to Isometric, GA, and P&ID drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mechanical works on construction or infrastructure projects.
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or completed a relevant apprenticeship in pipework/welding.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Valid First Aid at Work certification.

Salary/Benefits:

  • £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
