Abatec is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the South West region. This is a pivotal leadership role for a senior engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced, design-and-construct (D&C) environment. You’ll be responsible for technical governance, innovation, and delivery assurance across all phases of the project lifecycle – from feasibility and design through to commissioning and handover. As Engineering Manager you will:
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical governance and approve engineering outputs and specifications.
- Oversee project delivery from concept to commissioning and client handover.
- Manage technical risks and ensure alignment with commercial objectives (NEC3/4, IChemE).
- Act as a senior technical liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, and supply chain partners.
- Champion safety, sustainability, and whole-life asset considerations in all engineering decisions.
Our client requires an Engineering Manager with:
- Degree Qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IMechE, IET or CIWEM.
- Demonstrate experience managing engineering and commissioning teams within D&C frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of NEC form of contracts.
- Demonstrate experience within water/wastewater infrastructure delivery projects.
Salary and benefits include:
- £75,000 - £85,000 per annum.
- Car allowance.
