Abatec is recruiting for a proactive Document Controller to support civil engineering projects across the South West. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate management, control, and distribution of project documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal processes. This is a site-based role with close collaboration across design, delivery, and management teams.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience with modern digital systems, including CDE platforms, SharePoint, and project reporting tools, while contributing to efficient project workflows and document control best practices.
As Document Controller you will:
- Validate, manage, and distribute project documents in line with BS 19650 standards and company protocols
- Upload, issue, and maintain documentation via CDE systems, SharePoint, and other project platforms
- Administer system access, ensuring all users have correct permissions across CDE, SharePoint, and CEMAR
- Maintain project document registers and assist with reporting on dashboards, statistics, and workflows
- Provide training and support for colleagues, subcontractors, and clients on document management systems
- Promote digital workflows and best practice within the project team
- Identify opportunities to improve existing document management processes
- Support QHSE compliance in documentation procedures and workflows
Our client requires a Document Controller with:
- Previous experience using CDE platforms such as BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud (or similar)
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of document management standards and BIM processes (BS 19650)
- Full UK driving licence and CSCS card
- Strong communication, training, and presentation skills (required)
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with CEMAR (desirable)
Salary/Benefits:
- £35,000 - £40,000 p/a
