Abatec is recruiting for an experienced Lead Planner to join a leading Civil Engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an opportunity to play a key role within a high-performing team, supporting the successful planning and delivery of complex schemes across multiple sectors. This is a senior position offering the chance to influence project performance from pre-construction through to delivery, working across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in planning within civil engineering or infrastructure, with experience operating at Senior Planner or Planning Manager level.

As Lead Planner, you will:

  • Lead the development and management of detailed project programmes across multiple civil engineering schemes
  • Provide strategic planning input during tender and pre-construction stages
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain programme targets
  • Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure alignment between planning, design, and construction activities
  • Analyse programme performance and produce regular reports for senior stakeholders
  • Drive improvements in planning processes, tools, and standards across projects
  • Support and mentor junior planners, contributing to the development of the wider planning function
