Abatec has a fantastic opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on a variety of water sector projects. Based in either the Bristol or Exeter office, with hybrid working available, you will play a key role in developing high-quality design solutions that support the successful delivery of turnkey and engineering services contracts. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will help to ensure that designs are coordinated, efficient and fully compliant with industry standards, while contributing to the ongoing improvement of departmental processes and best practice.
As Civil Engineer you will:
- Produce cost effective design layouts that meet the requirements of the specification, and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively
- Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department
- Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to the contractor in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole
- Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.
- Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
- Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible
Our client requires a Civil Engineer with:
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline
- Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data
- Ability to rationalise designs and produce efficient plant layouts
- Excellent communication skills.
Salary/Benefits:
- £40,000 - £50,000
- Hybrid working available
